What are your favorite web or mobile apps? Which ones do you use everyday?
I Heart Radio.
I have an aux hookup in my car, so I can plug my iPhone in and listen to it through my speakers. I listen to I Heart Radio talk shows like Lex & Terry and Elvis Duran. It has radio stations all over the country. I spend about 2 hours a day in my car, so it helps pass the time. Sometimes it buffers for a while, which can get annoying, but it usually works pretty well for me.
Pandora is a close second.
Who are you dying to see in concert?
Ryan Adams. LOVE him. Saw him walking down the street. Didn't go to his show (which I could walk to from my office) because I had nobody to go with. Stupid reason to not do anything. I've learned my lesson.
He even performed my favorite song that night.
For the couple of ya who read my blog, my time at Vox has come to an end.
I'm switching to a public blog, which I haven't made yet. Ha. But I've suckered my boyfriend into doing it along with me. I'm excited.
I've become a fan of blogs like nerdyjess, prior fat girl, and my girl danulai, all who have more public blogs, and I've decided to go that route. Of course, that means I may have to censor some of what I spill, but eh, I'm boring anyway.
When it's set up, I'll post the new URL here. I will also still comment on my 'hood.
Love ya guys!

Please, if anyone reads this, send me a link to a pretty art piece that I could hang on my living room wall. I need some ideas.
My boyfriend does not like the dandelion motif I was dreaming of. He likes movie posters, but not for the livingroom. He doesn't like anything cutesy, like those owl drawings I liked too. I don't want anything too flowery (I like it - not so sure about him), and I don't know if he's into abstract stuff or not.
The walls are a medium shade of blue. There is nothing above our couch right now except a plain blue wall. I loved those wall decals like bliks, but he wants a picture or painting.
Help me, por favor. :D
Show us your wristwatch.
With the bangle bracelets my boyfriend bought me from the Hare Krishnas at the Palace of Gold gift shop. =)
And yes, I'm right-handed, but I wear my watch on my right hand. I've heard this is strange for a lot of people...
(Heh... realized I forgot to change my calendar too!)
If you were to open up a business of your own, what would it be?
Submitted by beth.
I joke about this to my boyfriend all the time. Well, half-joke, because I'd love to make it happen.
I want to open an 80s themed restaurant. Whenever we drive around and see buildings or lots for sale I tell him it would make a great location for our restaurant.
He cracked me up once when he said the old Circuit City would make a great location. And if we call our restaurant "Circuit City" we wouldn't even have to buy a new sign for the place. :P
I want to have TVs on the walls that play music videos from that time period. All the stuff from that decade on the walls like toys, movie posters, anything to do with that time period. And I'd make the waitstaff dress the part too.
I would have themed nights, like Duran Duran Night or Hair Metal Night or something.
And an extensive vegetarian menu. :D
Ha. I'd love to do it.
If you had to be named after one of the 50 states, which would it be?
Virginia is a family name, but I've always liked Georgia. But I like it spelled Jorja like that one actress. I remember watching The Real World years ago and there was a girl named Montana on there. I thought that was really cool, but not now thanks to Hannah Montana. :P
What was your first concert?
AC/DC with opening band Cinderella in Wheeling, West Virginia. I was 11. About 6 months later I saw Bon Jovi and Skid Row in Detroit.
Thus began my love affair with live music. I'm guessing I've been to over 50 concerts since. I've been to 2 already this year (Bryan Adams and Fleetwood Mac) and I've got tickets to 5 more so far.
:D
What food reminds you of your childhood?
Campbell's Vegetarian Vegetable soup.
I didn't become a vegetarian until I was 16, but I've been eating that soup my entire life.
I was a picky eater as a kid. If my mom packed my lunch for school, her choices were pretty limited. I would get bologna sandwiches. No cheese. I was against cheese back in the day. (Cheese is probably my most favorite food in the world now though!) I've never eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in my life.
So every now and then I would get a thermos of vegetarian vegetable soup to take for lunch. Remember the old-school lunch boxes? I had two - Care Bears and Jem & the Holograms. I would buy a milk since my thermos was utilized for other purposes. Ha.
I went to a school that didn't have a cafeteria. A lunch cart would pull up in the hallway and the hot lunch kids would line up to get their food, then bring it back to their desk to eat. No I didn't go to school in some small town - I was about 15 minutes from Detroit. I have no idea why we didn't have a cafeteria.
Once when my mom had made a sandwich for me, the boy who sat next to me - Wade was his name - jammed his fingers in it so he 'dented' my bread (as I later explained to my mother). Boy was I pissed. I punched him. My mother was called. I was sent home.
So the soup lunches began.
I still buy Campbell's Vegetarian Vegetable soup to keep at my desk at work for an easy, inexpensive lunch on days I don't want to venture out for food or I've forgotten my Lean Cuisine. The other day I made some, and suddenly I remembered 2nd grade and sitting in my classroom, eating soup from my Care Bears thermos.
Just to show ya, I have two on reserve now.
Back in the day I was a big fan of Fleetwood Mac. I loved their album called Tango in the Night. I was a kid, and I had a huge crush on Lindsey Buckingham. I remember my oldest sister making fun of me for liking such an "old" guy.
So last night I got to see my childhood crush in the flesh. Ha. It was awesome.
I was so tired though. My eyes were bloodshot before we even got into the arena. They had no opening band, and they came on the stage about 20 minutes late. But they played for 2 hours or so. They were awesome.
When I grow up I want to be Stevie Nicks. I really do.
